Test Fixtures


EMC Technologies designs and manufactures discretely wired and wireless test fixtures used for performance verification of PCB’s and Electronic Assemblies. Commercial applications have included work in support of many industries including satellite TV/IP, computer servers, medical, networking and telecom. We have also developed highly customized ITA’s (Interface Test Adapters) to support military, aerospace, and subcontracted military programs. Having such a wide variety of demanding customers and challenging products enable EMC Technologies to stay current with the latest testing strategies.




Interface Test Adapters (ITA)
A custom Mother Test Adapter shall mate to the customer’s Tester Interface. A custom Daughter Test Fixture, which will be generic in nature, shall mate to the Mother Test Adapter and provide a means to quickly adapt a Unit Under Test (CCA, Circuit Box, etc.) to the customer’s Tester.

Functional
A custom Z-Travel Overclamp shall restrain a fully loaded PCB assembly in the horizontal position and travel vertically to engage spring probes to the solder side of the PCB for In-Circuit testing.

A custom Z-Travel Overclamp shall restrain a Digital Caliper in the horizontal position. The digital readout shall be easily viewed and both the reset and power buttons to be independently activated. Linear extension and retraction of the caliper shall be automated.

A custom holding tower shall restrain a circular CCA in the vertical position. The CCA shall be readily accessible for attaching custom cable assemblies as well as probing. The fixture shall also be capable of thermal testing within a thermal cycling chamber. Removable protective covers for the entire assembly due to high current concerns shall be designed.

A custom Z-Travel Overclamp shall restrain a fully loaded PCB assembly in the vertical position to allow full access to both sides during test. Initial position shall be horizontal to allow the PCB to be placed. Z-axis travel shall be achieved by tilting the assembly in a vertical position. Both component and solder side of the PCB shall be simultaneously tested.

In-Circuit
A custom Interface Test Adapter shall mate to the customer’s Tester Interface. This Interface Test Adapter shall utilize vacuum to engage spring probes for In-Circuit testing of a fully loaded PCB assembly. The Interface Test Adapter shall provide a means to quickly adapt a Unit Under Test to the customer’s Tester.

Modular
A custom Test Adapter shall house all necessary supporting electrical hardware for a variety of Unit Under Test (CCA, Modules, etc.). Custom Connector Bars shall mate to the Test Adapter and provide a means to quickly interface to a Unit Under Test.
  • Test Adapter (provides linear movement to engage Custom Connector Bars as well as house supporting electrical hardware for both current and future Unit Under Test)
